Adventurous weekend

I promised my self that I would increase my mileage. Friday morning I went ahead and began. My wife and I have been consistently running since the new year. Our distances have been seven miles or less. Friday I ran 10 miles. It was not my fastest nor anywhere near it but I was satisfied.

Saturday morning we did not attend our morning run with Downtown Run Group. Instead the pack decided to go for a hike. After an hour and a half drive we made it bright and early. This is what I mean when I say the “pack”.

Later that evening everyone came home to take a nap and prepare for Saturday night boxing.

My wife had signed up to be a running buddy at the Girls on the Run 5K.

Once we arrived we found out there were too many buddies and not enough girls. She went ahead and signed up for the race. Even though she didn’t PR she set her second best time.

She took 1st in age category, second female overall, and 4th overall.

Even though we cannot travel much right now we continue to run in our very own town. Girls on the Run is a great organization that promotes children’s fitness focused on girls. It was great to be able to play a part and help.

Here are some of the run groups we saw out there today

Downtown Run Group

IAAP Training

Huarache Turbo

Brak Pak

Fleet Feet San Antonio
